Hydro-biogeochemistry of the Critical Zone

Scientific goals

To observe and understand the Critical Zone of the Earth, which is the part of the planet where life and major cycles such as water and carbon intersect. The team develops an integrated approach to the Critical Zone, including lateral transfers and couplings of these cycles on small and large watersheds, as well as mineral/fluid/living interactions, in the context of the Anthropocene.
We deploy in situ observation networks, particularly in the South, and combine laboratory analytical techniques with advanced space-based observations.
