Capturing and storing CO2 to fight against global warming

On May 14, 2024, the Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy, Roland Lescure, announced that he wanted to launch 4 to 5 projects on CO2 storage in France from 2025 in three large possible landfill areas, notably old oil wells or at the end of their life: i) in the Paris Basin, ii) the Aquitain basin and iii) the Pyrenees foothills. A call for Expressions of Interest (AMI) is scheduled for CO2 capture and storage capacities in France from 2025. The aim is to materialize the launch of the industry’s decarbonization strategy as part of the carbon reduction plan. relaunch France 2030.

In this context, Pascale Bénézeth was interviewed as an internationally recognized expert.
