Training theme: advances in geochronology – a state of the art

Project leader: Michel Grégoire
Session leaders: Stéphanie Duchêne, Oscar Laurent, Mathieu Leisen and Mathieu Benoit

Objectives

This training aims to detail the protocols for obtaining significant geochronological data with several absolute dating methods in geosciences. It will be based on a review of recent conceptual, methodological and software advances and the presentation of new geological models that have benefited from these advances, in a wide range of disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on the U-Pb method of which Jean-Louis Paquette, who passed away in 2022, was one of the greatest specialists – this edition will be dedicated to his memory.
