Research

Last babies:

I use numerical methods to test how geodynamic scenarii can be explained with elasto-visco-plastic rheologies at crustal or lithospheric scales. Sometimes, this requires algorithmic implementation. Always, it requires data of some sort, structural geology, petrology, geophysics. I seek to compare modeled features of deformation to these data. I like to show the importance of a dynamic stress evolution as opposed to standard kinematic or static concepts.

Continuying developments of the MultiMeltInterFoam solver (OpenFOAM), with Thomas Bonometti on coupling melt flow with chemical evolution via an effective porous medium.
Dumont d’Urville PHC french-New-Zealand collaborative partnership on modeling faults and volcanoes in the North Island, with S. Ellis, C. Massiot and P. Villamor (GNS).
Research on the role of faults intersections in localising geofluids flow and seismicity along the Central Chilean Margin (ECOS-Sud project) with J. Cembrano, J. Crempien et al. (PUC).
