Research

I use stratigraphic architectures of sedimentary basins to study:

the processes of lithospheric deformation producing continental reliefs (e.g. which style of lithospheric necking is associated with which evolution of subsidence?);
the evolution of these reliefs by erosion and weathering creating sediments which will reach the oceans (e.g. which erosion/deformation balance for which type of relief evolution?) and the conditions for preserving these fluxes in the major basins;
sediment flux on geological time scales (e.g. sediment production in orogenic/extensional/cratonic domains).

Methods:

Quantification of the deformation of basins to evaluate continental crust and lithosphere processes.
Analysis of surface processes in sedimentary domain.
Numerical experimentation of coupling between surface and deep processes
